We have been thinking ahead to our learning away in Sheringham in September. We have been finding out about how different artists represent the sea. This is one of our favourites. What can you find out about the artist Claude Monet?

  2. It was fun panting the sea and the waves. This was one of the best days ever when are we doing an nother art setion.

  3. 1.In year 5 I have been painting Claude Monet which is a painting of the seascape and wave with swishes and curls .
    2.We added boats and birds to make it real-life-looking.
    3.We might be putting it above our heads on the wall.
    4.We made white to make waves and make it foamy-looking.

  5. Oscar-Claude Monet was a founder of French impressionist painting. He was born November 19th 1840. His paintings led him to adopt a method of painting the same scene many times in order to capture the changing of light and the passing of the seasons. In 1881 the painting called breaking waves which was painted in Normandy on the sandy beach at Etretat Normandy coast. Many times Monet painted the English Channel from the same spot at different hours of the day in all weathers to capture how the sea behaves.
