Rocket Cars!

Rocket Cars!

Today some Year 5 children visited Oakwood Academy to join children from different schools to design and make Rocket Cars! They tested their cars to see which one travelled the fastest.

What did you use to make the cars? How did you design it so that it would travel fast? Did you enjoy working with children from different schools.

  1. I really enjoyed our trip to Oakwood Academy. I made a lot of new friends there. It was nice to work with other people from other schools and put all our ideas together to make a car firework powered.
I would really like to visit again if there is an offer.

  2. I enjoyed making the rocket cars because we had to work with other schools and even if we did not come in 1st, 2nd or 3rd I still loved the team work. The Phil engineers are trying to do the world record for 1000 miles per hour and I only learnt that yesterday.

  3. I really enjoyed making the rocket car because we were engineers.Guess what.We used real tools as in the hot super glue and the item that cuts through the sponge. It was quite difficult to work with other people from different schools that you didn’t know but we are Henry Whipple and we can work with everyone. Some groups didn’t even place 1st,2nd or 3rd but aslong as everyone had a great time and had a lot of fun.

  4. I have spoken to Oakwood Academy and they will definitely be inviting us back! A special mention to Conor who was not only mentioned by another school because of his positive attitude but gave me a great explanation about why his car was the fastest.

  5. I enjoyed oakwood because we had to work with children from different schools. We got to use different tools like hot saw cutter and a hot glue gun.

  6. It looks like the people who went to Oakwood Academy seemed to had fun. Whose car was the fastest? I’m so proud of those people who went there for working with other people from other schools.
