  1. For example when you have 24 and you want to multiply it by 10 don’t worry about the 1 just worry about the 0.Add the 0 onto to 24 so it will become 240.If you have 240 add the 0 so it would be 2400.Basically the point is to add a 0.

    Multiply by 10,100,1000
    24=240,2400,24000
    240=2400,24000,240000
    2400=24000,240000,2400000

  2. 24 x 10 = 240
    24 x 100 = 2400
    24 x 1000 = 24000

    24 / 10 = 2.4
    24 / 100 = 0.24
    24 / 1000 = 0.024

    240 x 10 = 2400
    240 x 100 = 24000
    240 x 1000 = 240000

    240 / 10 = 24
    240 / 100 = 2.4
    240 / 1000 = 0.24

    2400 x 10 = 24000
    2400 x 100 = 240000
    2400 x 1000 = 2400000

    2400 / 10 = 240
    2400 / 10 = 24
    2400 / 10 = 2.4

    When the numbers are multiplied by 10, 100 or 1000 the number gets bigger and you add 1, 2 or 3 zeros on the end. To divide, the digits get smaller, sometimes you take away a zero and other times you add a decimal point.

  3. 24= 2.4 0.24 0.024
    240= 24 2.4 0.24
    2400= 240 24 2.4

    24= 240 2400 24000
    240= 2400 24000 240000
    2400= 24000 240000 2400000

    What happens is that when you are dividing it as much zeros as there is move it as much zeros to the right it goes 1 place to the right and when you are multiplying it as much zeros as there is move as much zeros to the left.

  4. When you times it the digits move to the left and when you divide it the digit move to the left for example:
    24
    240
    2400
    24000
